Common Questions
Answers to questions families often ask when considering residential care
What makes sillveerlooma different from other care homes?
sillveerlooma brings together the warmth of traditional Lanna hospitality with the comforts of modern living. Our staff are trained to provide support in ways that respect each person's autonomy and preferences. The setting itself reflects Chiang Mai's artisan heritage, with teak furnishings, handwoven textiles, and spaces designed for quiet reflection as well as shared activities. We believe in a gentle approach where care feels less like service and more like family.
Can family members visit regularly?
Yes, families are welcome to visit any day between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. We encourage regular connection and also invite family participation in special activities and celebrations throughout the year. Many families find comfort in joining us for shared meals or craft sessions. There are no restrictions on visits, and we can arrange private spaces for family gatherings when needed.
What is included in the monthly fee?
The monthly fee covers accommodation in a fully furnished room, three balanced meals daily prepared by our in-house cook, housekeeping and laundry service, access to all common areas and gardens, and participation in community activities. For the Artisan Craft & Mindfulness program, all materials and monthly outings are included. The Silk Suite includes a dedicated companion for personalized daily support. Additional costs would only apply if a resident requests specialized outside services.
Does sillveerlooma provide medical care?
sillveerlooma is a residential care home, not a medical facility. We provide assistance with daily living routines and create a supportive environment, but we do not offer nursing care or medical treatments. Residents maintain their own healthcare arrangements with local doctors and hospitals. Our staff can help coordinate appointments and provide transportation if needed. We work closely with families to ensure health needs are met through appropriate external providers.
How do I arrange a visit to see sillveerlooma?
You can call us at +66 53 948 172 or use the contact form below to request a visit. We are happy to show you the residence, answer questions, and discuss how we might support your family member. Visits typically last about an hour and include a tour of the rooms, common areas, and gardens, along with time to speak with our staff. There is no obligation, and we understand that choosing a care home is a significant decision that deserves careful consideration.
What are the activity programs like?
Our Artisan Craft & Mindfulness program is designed around Chiang Mai's rich cultural traditions. Weekly activities include silk weaving, natural dyeing, paper umbrella painting, gentle stretching, garden meditation, and group readings. Monthly outings visit local artisan workshops, temple gardens, and seasonal festivals. Everything is offered as an invitation rather than a schedule, so residents can participate as much or as little as they prefer. The focus is on enjoyment, creativity, and connection rather than obligation.
